Ralph Tarzian

Concentrating on his work, Ralph Tarzian calmly sculpts the piece of clay in front of him, changing the position of the foot, elongating the arm, adjusting the ear on the horse. After over fifty years of working in sculpture, Ralph has arrived at the point where his figures dance into life by themselves. Working in either bronze or marble, Ralph creates images and sensations that inspire him. A series of thin women, with a bird, or an umbrella, characterize his work. Also in his past concepts are abstract hanging pieces, geometric planes crossing over each other to give an effect of tension and movement.

Ralph’s studio is located in Laguna Beach, California where he and his wife have lived for many years. Oftentimes commissioned for large, outdoor pieces, his thin bronze figures, in groups or alone, are well loved and sought after by many private and corporate collectors.
